University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee PRSSA Students Visit Chapter Treasurer at The Field Museum

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee visited the Field Museum during a recent trip to Chicago – not only to see the iconic SUE the T.rex, but also to learn more about public relations within the museum.

PRSA Chicago Treasurer Bridgette Russell, APR, is the Field’s Public Relations Director and was happy to
talk with the group about PR strategy and the trajectory of her own career.

“Students may not consider PR careers at a place like a museum,” Russell said, “but the fact is that every business, every industry needs communicators. So you may end up working somewhere that you never imagined.”

“I commend PRSSA-UW and their president, Hayley Thomson, for being proactive in exploring career opportunities and reaching out to chat,” Russell continued. “We had a great time.”
