Five Steps to Become Accredited in Public Relations - APR
Five Steps to Become Accredited in Public Relations - APR
By Edward M. Bury, MA, APR
Earning the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential remains a process that involves these key steps:
- Plan your APR journey and apply.
- Study and engage with coaches and mentors.
- Complete and submit the Panel Presentation Questionnaire.
- Participate in a Panel Presentation.
- Schedule and take the Online Examination.
However, this year, one of these five procedures has changed. Starting in 2024, the Online Examination now is administered by Certification Management Services, replacing Prometric Testing, which had been used since 2003. This means APR candidates must take the Examination at their home or work office rather than a Prometric Testing center.
