Ethical Insights: A Perspective on Ethics
By Joyce Lofstrom, MS, APR, Fellow PRSA

This month’s column on ethics gives PRSA Chicago members insights from the PRSA National Capital Chapter and the Public Relations Student Society of America - PRSSA. Enjoy these two perspectives on ethics from an experienced PR professional and a student leader.

Public relations leader Don Bates, APR, Fellow PRSA, writes on PR Ethics: Context and Content. As noted in his bio, he is a PR executive, writer, and consultant who has been a long-time member of PRSA NCC and PRSA-NY. He has taught PR writing and management courses at New York University. Bates is the founding director of the Master’s degree program in strategic public relations at the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University.

PR student Megan vanVollenhoven shares her thoughts on Making the Right Choice: Everything About PR Ethics. She is the PRSSA 2023-2024 vice president of professional development and a junior studying public relations with a dual minor in informatics and music industry studies at the University of South Carolina.
