Meet Ashley Zeman - New PRSA Chicago Member

Ashley Zeman began as an intern at Weber Shandwick in Chicago and supported accounts such as Harley Davidson, Suave Professionals, and Sharpie, experiences where she found her passion for PR. After graduation, she joined Dig Communications and supported the Wrigley Gum and Confections portfolio, where celebrity seeding/gifting initiatives took off.

Ashley became a marketing specialist at Elgin Community College in her next career move. Nine years later, she manages the marketing team at ECC as the Senior Director of Marketing Strategy. Ashley leads her team to work with videographers, writers, graphic designers, and others to tell compelling student success stories leveraged across paid, owned, and earned media channels. 

She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Management Association Chicago, the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations, and the Illinois Community College Marketing Collaborative. She serves as Chair of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce’s Learning & Development committee. 

As she pursues a master’s degree in management from the Gies School of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Ashley also has two kids, a mini goldendoodle, and a supportive husband.
 
She explained what drew her to PRSA Chicago. “I am looking to gain access to more professional development resources, particularly in internal communications, crisis communications, and social media. I also want to stay informed about current trends, participate in conversations with industry professionals, and network.”
