From the President's Desk: Continuing the Momentum in 2025

We are halfway through the first month of 2025, and already, we find ourselves in for quite the ride!

Of course, our thoughts are with all those who may be affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles. As PR practitioners, some of our colleagues may be worried about saving their own livelihoods and homes – while crafting the messaging and strategy for others. National PRSA shared several resources with the body for those who would like to help as the City of Angels reshapes itself in the days to come.

Closer to home, it’s a new year for PRSA Chicago, but in many ways, we remain the same: committed to inclusivity, committed to sharing topics and strategies that are on the forefront of our communications professions, committed to YOU in our tireless pursuit of professional growth and industry advancement.

I’m excited to welcome 2025, and to see what the year has in store for us. I’m thrilled to welcome our Board of Directors, whose expertise, energy, and enthusiasm are already apparent – and to serve as your chapter president this year. I am so grateful to immediate past president Kayee Ip for her leadership as she passes the proverbial baton, and to the entire membership of PRSA Chicago – a community of dynamic communications professionals who showcase the best our industry has to offer.

I look forward to serving the chapter, and I thank you for the opportunity.

Sincerely,
Bridgette Russell, APR
President, PRSA Chicago
