Jacqueline Rachev Earns Accreditation
By Edward M. Bury, MA, APR
Public Information Coordinator
The Urban Transportation Institute at UIC
Twenty years ago, I earned my Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), one of my most proud accomplishments. The APR credential
signifies a commitment to advancing the principles of ethical and effective public relations. That’s why I am thrilled to share that our colleague and PRSA Chicago member Jacqueline Rachev, Senior Account Supervisor at Public Communications Inc. (PCI), recently earned her APR.
Jacqueline believes in purpose-driven public relations. With a focus on nonprofit communications, she leads programs that make a tangible difference for organizations and communities. She recently led four voter education programs for PCI clients in greater Chicago—two park districts, a library district, and a school district—resulting in successful tax referendums for facility improvements. Earning her APR underscores Jacqueline’s dedication to refining her craft and delivering value to clients.
PCI’s encouragement of professional development stands out, with Jacqueline’s accreditation bringing to four the total number of APR professionals on PCI’s staff. “Jacqueline’s accomplishment reflects her dedication to PRSA’s high standards of professionalism and underscores our agency’s commitment to empowering team members to achieve their career goals,” said Craig Pugh, APR, President of PCI. “I know Jacqueline, as I do, appreciates having had support from Edward Bury and PRSA during her journey to earning her APR. Their collaborative spirit strengthens our profession.”
As someone who has greatly benefited from the APR journey, I admire agencies like PCI that create environments where professional growth is encouraged and celebrated. It’s no surprise that PCI was recently named one of Crain’s 2024 Best Places to Work in Chicago—a recognition tied to their support of their team’s aspirations.
Please join me in congratulating Jacqueline on her important milestone and championing the values that define our profession.
