ABOUT WEBINAR
With spring upon us, perhaps it’s time to take on a new challenge. On Thursday, April 25, PRSA Chicago will host this free webinar that will offer insight into the two leading programs designed to advance the public relations profession. All communicators interested in completing the APR program and election to the College of Fellows are invited to participate. The presentation will be held from 2 – 3 p.m. CT via the Zoom platform.

Edward Bury, APR, MA, is a senior communications professional/strategic thinker and management professional whose concentration is in real estate, transportation, urban affairs and B2B arenas. Bury earned Master of Arts degree in English in May 2020 from University of Illinois at Chicago. A former member of the PRSA Chicago Board of Directors, Bury is one of 5,000 professionals to hold Accreditation in Public Relations (APR).
Bury continues his volunteer leadership with the Public Relations Society of America and Transportation Research Board Research Innovation Implementation Management Committee. He is an active mentor, blogger and volunteer. Bury's blog, "PRDude," offers his take on the lighter side of public relations, marketing and communications.
In 2020, Bury was one of five UIC employees named to the Janice Watkins Awards for Distinguished Civil Service.
Joyce Lofstrom, MS, APR, Fellow PRSA

Joyce Lofstrom, MS, APR, Fellow PRSA, is a health sector strategic communication professional. In 2018, she founded Joyce Lofstrom & Associates, a public relations and communications consulting business where she manages results-oriented public relations, media relations, and content development. She serves as a strategist with nonprofit, government, and corporate healthcare and health IT clients. She has guided staff, clients, and students throughout her 35+-year career in Kansas City, Denver, and Chicago.
Returning to the PRSA Chicago Board of Directors in 2023, Lofstrom is co-chair of the Communications Committee. As a champion of the APR, she previously served as PRSA Chicago Accreditation Chair (2010-11) to help guide candidates in their pursuit of accreditation in public relations. She is the secretary and a committee chair of the PRSA Board of Ethics and Professional Standards – BEPS, and a member of the Health Academy and Independent Practitioners Alliance. Lofstrom has held multiple leadership positions with PRSA, including the National PRSA Board of Directors, and as chair and twice conference co-chair of the Health Academy, presenting at both conferences.
