About THE SOCIAL

We’ve finally made it to summertime in the Windy City - join PRSA Chicago for an exciting yet laid-back evening in the heart of the city’s beautiful River North Neighborhood!

Mix and mingle with your PR colleagues at this summer's social on Tuesday, July 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the Kemper Building Sky Lounge, located on the 41st floor of One East Wacker Drive. All guests over the age of 21 are welcome to attend the social.

Fees include two drink tickets for the beer and wine bar, and freshly prepared, beautifully presented, contemporary appetizer stations. Network with your peers, and enjoy the 360-degree early evening views of the Chicago skyline.

ABOUT THE SKY LOUNGE
The Kemper Building, the world’s tallest marble-clad office building when it opened, remains among the city’s tallest skyscrapers. The tower's striking white exterior and strong vertical lines place it squarely within the city’s Modernist tradition. The Kemper Building originally featured a 360-degree public observation deck, including dramatic views of the Chicago River and other nearby buildings—though this attraction was closed within 10 years of opening. This 41st-floor observation deck was reopened for the first time in more than 40 years during Open House Chicago 2012.

Online pre-registration is strongly suggested; pre-registration deadline is Monday, July 15 at 6 p.m. All guests must be at least 21 years of age to attend.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
The PRSA Summer Social will be held on the 41 st floor of the Kemper Building at 1 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601, the southeast corner of State Street and Wacker Drive, one block north of the State/Lake stop for the Red Line Subway and the State/Lake CTA “L” Train Station (served by the Brown, Green, Orange, Pink and Purple lines).  Also nearby are stops for CTA Buses #29, #36, #146 and #148.

Self Parking
Public parking is available under the Kemper Building.  The garage is accessible only via the alley that runs along the south edge of the Kemper Building.  Enter the alley via northbound State Street (north of Lake) or southbound Wabash (south of Wacker Drive). From Wacker Drive, turn southbound onto Wabash, then immediately right into the alley; from northbound State Street, drive 20 feet past the Wit Hotel and immediately turn right into the alley.  The alley is labelled “Haddock Place” on maps, but no sign appears on the alley. From the alley, turn into the Kemper Building parking garage—the electronic door will open as you approach. Special PRSA event rate: $15. 

Valet Parking
For valet parking near the Kemper Building, enter into your GPS the address of The Wit Hotel at 201 N. State Street and leave your car with The Wit Hotel valet, then walk 60 paces north to the Kemper Building (the first building past the alley on your right).  Special PRSA event rate: $28.

Once inside the Kemper Building, the security desk on the ground floor will have your name and direct you to elevators to the Sky Lounge.
